Indian typically dress in traditional or cultural attire. Ethnic clothing includes saris, kurtas, shararas suits, salwar kameez, lehengas, palazzos, Anarkali salwar kameez, and many other attires.

Saris (साड़ी): The Indus Valley Civilization, which flourished in northwestern India between 2800 and 1800 BC, is where the drape or a garment resembling the sari first appeared. Cotton was the first material used to make a sari, and it was initially grown in the Indian subcontinent during the fifth millennium BC.

Kurta (कुर्ता): Indians typically pair a loose, collarless shirt with a salwar, churidars, or pyjamas.

Shararas Suits: A Sharara Suit is what? A pair of wide-legged pants are a feature of the sharara, which is also comparable to a gharara suit. Women from India and Pakistan wear them. They are also the most popular wedding dress. A short kurta and a pair of flared pants often make up a Sharara suit.

Salwar Kameez: The shalwar are comfortable, pajama-style pants. The top of the legs are broad, and the ankles are narrow. The kameez is a long shirt or tunic, sometimes seen with a Western-style collar; however, the term is now amorphously used to describe kurtas for women that have no collar or a mandarin collar.

Lehenga: The Indian subcontinent’s version of an ankle-length skirt is known as a lehenga or lehnga. The lehenga is embellished with several traditional embroidery designs and styles. Many festivals and weddings employ gota patti embroidery.
